U.S. Won't Let Iran Shut Strait of
Hormuz, Fleet Says
I’m
updating my prediction from yesterday from “great
deal of certainty that we are most probably going to war
with Iran”
to “greater deal
of certainty that we are most probably going to war with Iran.”
Time to batten down the hatches and get out the bottle of Iodine tables.
A mountain of trash: China closes
Everest for clean-up
Think of all
of those thousands of people who busted their guts to get to the top of
Everest – dying, exhausted, wheezing, thirsty, hungry, frostbitten,
desperate, barely making it home, if they were lucky, with all their
fingers and toes. If at all.
Then one day the Chinese come along and drive a garbage truck up there
to take away the trash. Now that’s progress.
Proof
that Marijuana is a Powerful Medicine
No one's arguing.
Lack-Luster Lehman Loses
As a writer how many times do you get to
write a headline like that ? Practically never.
When executives
start saying that their company is in good shape during a rough market, they’re generally not
telling us everything. Lehman – according to articles today - fits right
into that league and could be sold at bargain basement rates.
Great headline though.
Zimbabwe: Inside
Mugabe's torture camps
How many times does this have to happen in human history before we – all
of us - say “NO MORE,” and stop this? Jesus.
Drunken Swede tries
to row home from Denmark
As an Irishman I am completely in the zone with this guy and see the
infallible logic in his efforts.
What’s even better is that he awoke to find himself rescued (he had
fallen asleep on the way) with hot coffee and breakfast waiting for him
compliments of the Coast Guard. Now that’s service.
Royal
gate returns to Versailles
I
was going to say something about this being a rusty used replica until I
reread the article and found I would have embarrassed myself. This
replica cost 5 million Euros (nearly as much as my one bedroom pile of
bricks in Dublin before the recession) and it is an “80-metre
steel gate decorated with 100,000 gold leaves.” Somebody back in they
day had way too much of other people’s money to spend.
