1. Palin is potentially
the first female VP and President in the history of
the United States. Yes, I do know
that Geraldine Ferraro ran in 1984 but she never got elected
and doesn't count.
2. Her candidacy spring-boarded on the rejection of
the Democrats golden ticket of Obama/Hillary. Had
Obama
taken Hillary as VP, Palin would still be fishing in Alaska.
3. She is everywoman, managing a personal and
professional life. Well, it would seem.
4. Sarah 'Barracuda' Palin is aggressive and quick to
attack and answer. That scares people.
5. Darn-it she’s pretty; sexy too. That above many
other issues is what has some of her female detractors
nuts. Many women hate attractive competitors in life let
alone politics. They know their husbands and men
in general are warming to the candidate in more ways than one
although we...oops, they’ll never admit it.
I’ll go out on a limb here and even say that she’s ‘hot.’
There, I said it.
6. As a woman Palin takes the bite out of the
Democratic message. They can no longer speak for women
when
one is running for office.
7. Her detractors realize that Palin’s personal
opinions are irrelevant – abortion, smoking pot and
guns are
non-issues. As with everyone else in America and as a woman,
she is entitled to her personal opinion. The
puritan value measuring stick is outdated and useless.
8. The reality is that Palin’s hard to attack. That’s
why Rosie and Oprah are so dismissive of her.
Attacking
her will be seen as attacking a woman just because she is a
woman.
9. She’s got more in common with the ordinary
Christian working mom that any democratic candidate,
no
Ivy League elitist credentials here. Sarah graduated college
in Idaho. A mom for 18 years, a good
looking, successful tough husband. A pregnant daughter,
what could be more perfect?
10. Gosh, as hard as it is to say it, Palin’s got more
political experience than Obama and he’s
running for president.
Now that’s a toughie. Sarah has two terms as a council
member, two terms as Mayor of Wasilla and has two
years as Governor of our largest state. That’s got to leave
Obama’s team scratching their heads.
This as Biden turns out to be the Democrat's Dan Quayle.
I
guess one thing Obama has over her is his trip to the
Middle East and Europe. At least he’ll have
the pictures.
