Child AbuseWatch asks the Governor
to drop Kate Gosselin

Child AbuseWatch.net, the national child advocacy group, yesterday wrote to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Schriver. The open letter asked the Governor and First Lady to drop Kate Gosselin of Jon and Kate plus 8 fame from the roster of speakers in the upcoming Women’s Conference which the Governor and First Lady sponsor.

Evin Daly, Child AbuseWatch’s Executive Director, said in the letter that “infamy is not a reason to honor someone with an invitation to speak.” CAN has repeatedly voiced concerns about what they see is the emotional abuse and neglect that the Gosselin children are subject to on the show and in reflected light of the parents continuous negative media coverage.

CAN’s support of the children is no secret and they are in the midst of organizing a boycott of TLC advertisers until the show is taken off the air. The text of the letter is available on the home page of Child AbuseWatch website: www.abusewatch.net

Child AbuseWatch is an international child abuse prevention organization whose mission is ‘the protection of children from abuse.' They have a presence in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
